When it comes to advertising one of the film industries key tools is the film poster. Whilst not as flashy and in-your-face as a trailer, a poster being subtly placed on a billboard or on the wall of a well established fast food chain is the ideal way to ensure that people learn about your movie. With this in mind a poster must be able to immediately convey key information about the film without bogging the viewer down with lines of text. To do this the poster is often broken into sections:
-The title of the film in large print.
-A tag line, conveying the concept of the film in a single catchy line.
-(Key) Actors names should they be well known.
-An image showing the main character or conveying the concept of the film.
