Pre-Production
Pre-production is essentially the planning stage of film. The initial idea of the film will be decided. The film will be scripted, storyboarded and pitched to various film companies. Furthermore the cast will be decided upon with an extensive auditioning process (a process I will be undertaking in the coming week.) props are bought, designed and created and a shooting schedule is decided.
Production
The production stage is the section of the production process where the text is filmed and sound is recorded. Some elements of the film score will be made now but most of it is actually scored in post production. The production stage is probably the most stressful of the three as there is always a demand to tighten the schedule and going weeks over being frowned upon.
This is the final stage of creating a film and involves the scoring of the films soundtrack the editing process. The film is finalised with excessive scenes removed and the film cut together in a way that is deemed best to convey the narrative. Below a video can be seen listing some of the best ways that editing has been used in cinema.
